- CHF 3,486 net per month
- Coverage under CERN’s comprehensive health insurance scheme, with the contribution automatically deducted from the allowance
- A family supplement to the subsistence allowance, depending on individual circumstances
- Travel expenses to Geneva upon joining CERN, depending on individual circumstances
- 30 days of paid leave per year
- Two weeks of annual closure
- A contract lasting 4 to 12 months

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet CERN’s eligibility requirements.
Nationality
Applicants must be nationals of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State.
CERN currently states that applications cannot be considered from nationals of Pakistan, Lithuania, Latvia, Cyprus and Croatia, because the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
Education and Student Status
Applicants must have completed at least 18 months of their overall studies (three semesters) in the relevant field at the time of selection.
Applicants must also:
- Remain enrolled as full-time students during the studentship
- Be studying in a relevant field
- Not be PhD students or PhD holders
Language Requirements
Candidates should have a good knowledge of English or French.
How Does the Recruitment Process Work?
The selection process consists of several stages.
