Calling all emerging media leaders in Southeast Asia! ABC International Development’s (ABCID) Future Voices Program is now accepting applications for the 2026/27 intake, centred on Climate Change journalism.
Future Voices is a leadership and professional development program for early to mid-career media professionals across Southeast Asia, delivered by ABCID and supported by the ASEAN-Australia Centre.
A cohort of 33 media professionals will be selected to join this program designed to strengthen climate reporting across newsrooms and communities. The program blends online learning, a year of professional development, and ongoing alumni engagement.
From this group, 11 participants will be selected for the in‑country intensive course in Australia from 20–30 October 2026, where they will:
- Earn a leadership and climate change micro‑credential at a leading Australian university
- Receive training at the ABC
- Attend the All‑Energy Australia conference
- Connect with major Australian climate institutions
- Develop a personalised leadership action project with support from industry mentors
